What if we connect openEHR with FHIR-SDC

On the 12 of may i had the honor of giving a presentation titled “What if we connect openEHR with FHIR-SDC” during the HL7 FHIR & openEHR Converge and Collaborate event at prestigious Trinity College Dublin.

The event brought together about 100 leaders and experts from around the world, the people helping define and shape the interoperability standards of the future, to discuss the next generation of digital health interoperability and explore how the open standards FHIR and openEHR can accelerate innovation in healthcare.

My session focused on the opportunities of connecting openEHR with FHIR-SDC (Questionnaires), and how this combination can support better data exchange, more flexible workflows, more reusable clinical information and reduce it costs.

I’m looking forward to further developing this idea together with several specialists in the field, with the ambition of turning it into a dedicated FHIR Implementation Guide (IG).

A big thank to the organizers (Rachel Dunscombe, Grahame Grieve, Jordi Piera Jiménez), speakers, and attendees for the inspiring discussions and valuable insights. It was great to see so much energy and collaboration within the international digital health community.
